These works were created while I was working near an industrial site. They are multi-day “exposures” whereby I left the paper out in the environment in which i was working to be exposed. The particulate matter settled on the surface of the paper and in combination with a variety of masking techniques created the images. The shapes and forms were created with materials found at the site. These works directly speak to the geologic process of sedimentation and the marks we are leaving on the earth but are also in conversation with how we piece together our collective past through physical and emotional impressions. These pieces look both forward and backward while existing in the present.
